Keith and I had a lot of fun on our trip. We flew out bright and early (7:30 am) Monday July 20th. We flew into the Dallas Fort Worth airport and had a 4 hour layover (ugh). We ended up in the Cancun, MX airport about 7:30 / 8:00pm. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort in Playa del Carment, Mexico. It's about 40 miles south of Cancun. So, needless to say we didn't do much on Monday.
Tuesday we hit the beach and the pool all day. The sand is so soft and the water is perfect temperature, cool enough to keep you cool but warm enough your body doesn't get a shock when you first get in.
Wednesday we walked to "5th Avenue" which was a few miles away from our hotel. It's mainly a bunch of shopping. They have a lot of bars and clubs and the concierge suggested we go at night but since we don't drink and aren't into clubbing we opted to go during the day. We weren't there very long. It was mainly just little family type shops with the traditional Mexican junk and people yelling at you to come take a look.
Thursday we woke up early and went to Coba. It was about an hour and a half away from our hotel and it is Mayan Ruins. It was pretty cool. We walked around part of it with our tour guide and then we were able to explore on our own. We walked up the tallest pyramid and the view from the top is amazing, you can see forever!
Friday we spent it lounging around at the pool and the beach and Keith did a bit of snorkeling with the gear that he brought with him.
Saturday we woke up at 3 am to hitch our ride to the airport at 4 am! After another layover in Dallas Forth Worth we were back home in good old Utah, we were ready to come home, we missed Kate like crazy wanted to be back home with her and in our own bed.
