Keith and I actually flew in a day before everybody so we had all Friday morning to ourselves. We first went for a 5 mile run in Central Park and it was beautiful. The weather was perfect the whole time. It was generally between 50 and 60 degrees and sunny most of the time. Keith didn't take his phone with him on this run so we weren't able to get any picture of Fridays run through the Park. After we finished getting ready, we headed out to explore the city a little bit. This restaurant was right around the corner from our apartment. My mom wanted us to try it out but we were never able to make it there to eat.
We then walked over to Rockefeller Center. It's very deceiving how small it is. It looks pretty large but when you walk over the ice rink, it's really not that big.
We also stopped by Grand Central Station just so Keith could say he's been and seen it. We never took any of the trains out of this station though. Most of our commuting was via walking or subway.
Since Mallory had already been and Dad, Jana and Hayley weren't going to go, we decided to go to the top of the Empire State Building on Friday morning as well.

Mallory's train arrived from Virginia around 1:30 so we met her a Penn Station and took her back to the apartment. We then ventured over to Serendipity for a late lunch.
We all shared a Frozen Hot Chocolate - very delicious! Afterwards we went to Canal Street which is kinda like visiting Mexico. It's where you can buy cute knock-offs for super cheap. Mallory bought a wallet and we bought Kate her birthday present, a Hello Kitty Backpack for $22 bucks, originally $30! FYI there was Hello Kitty stuff EVERYWHERE in New York. Kate would've been in heaven.

We then made our way to Washington Square Park.
After our adventure we made it back to the apartment to meet Dad, Jana and Hayley around 7 pm. They dropped their stuff and we head to dinner at The Burger Joint inside the Le Parker Meridien Hotel. It was really good. It reminded me of the Carmarck's that used to be on Main Street in Bountiful. It was a total hole in the wall place, very tiny with writing all over the walls. After dinner we walked around a bit. Took a bathroom break inside The Plaza and then headed over the Apple Store so everybody could check out the latest and greatest.
